Of course, he could be following the example of Soloman’s son, Rehoboam, from 1 Kings 12. He had many advisers, and the people hated him.

True. But it does not change the fact that they are destroying our country and stealing our freedom to introduce a communist/fascist system – a system which has never produced a prosperous nation in the many times it has been tried. Certainly, it sounds good in theory, but it is proven to only create a smaller elite who run the government while everyone else struggles just to survive.

I completely agree with you. Something that has baffled me to an extent is how many (if not most) South American Christians cling to a hope that communism is the answer to our global political-economic woes. It is as though they have not seen what has happened in the past 100 years nor taken account of human sin. The evidence of the former should at least give them pause, and the latter should be evident. Granted, they happen to have some more Eastern-style influence in their theology, and this makes their understanding of sin a little different than the general Western view. However, sin, I would think, should still play a major factor in their beliefs. Perhaps many of them hold to a more humanistic version of Christianity (maybe we could call it a form of post-millennialism?) in that the Gospel will eventually win over the population of Earth and make Communism a viable option.
If you cannot tell, I disagree with that view.
