Saw the movie “Chappie,” tonight. It is an adult version of the old movie, “Short Circuit.” If you like violent action movies, and can overlook a lot of foul language, it is pretty good – but has a strong New Age religious theme as part of the story. SPOILER ALERT for spiritual discussion:
The New Age concept promoted in this movie is that our soul, or “consciousness” can be mapped, and then transferred to a computer/robot. It glorifies rebellion against God.
In one scene, when Chappie is discussing death with his “mommy,” she says that when someone dies, they move on to the next thing. Later in the movie she dies. But he had saved her consciousness on a flash drive as he was learning how to map it. Chappie comments, “You don’t have to go on to the next thing.” He then transfers her “saved” soul into another robot.
This movie, at its core, is outright rebellion against God, who said in His Word, “It is appointed to man to die once, and then the judgment.”
It is interesting that the lead human character, who “created” Chappie, is of apparent Indian (from India) descent. India is the home of Hinduism, which believes in reincarnation. And the core theme of the movie is man-directed reincarnation.
The “bad guy” who works in the office with the main character is portrayed as a Catholic (aka, the traditional movie “Christian”), and makes the sign of the cross when he discovers that Chappie is alive. He then arranges things so he can send his super-robot to try to kill Chappie. While the type of robot that Chappie was (humanoid police robots) has artificial intelligence, the super-robot must be controlled by a human through a neural transmitter. Chappie ends up kicking the super-robot’s backside, then a couple scenes later, kicks its creator around, too.
The hidden message in this part? Christians cannot think for themselves, but are merely robots controlled by their Creator. In the end, they will lose, while the New Age will succeed.
In Revelation 13, it says that the Antichrist will war against the saints and overcome them. But the good news (not in the movie), that God first told us in Revelation 12 that the saints will overcome the Antichrist by the Blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony, and because they loved not their lives even to the death. And in the end, our Creator comes, and puts down Satan’s rebellion.
Further question for discussion:
As I was coming home from the movie, I had an idea that this could also relate to the rise of Antichrist. To start off, it is believed by the more serious conspiracy theorists that the New World Order has a code that they must reveal their plans, though it can be hidden. They do this through movies.
What if…
Revelation says that the beast Antichrist will be apparently killed from a head wound, then three days later come back – and the world will marvel. Revelation also says that the second beast, often called the false prophet, will make an image of the beast, which will be given the breath of life. Everyone will be required to worship the first beast.
Could it be that the beast will be transferred into an image/robot when he is killed. Then will offer the same opportunity to those who take the mark of the beast. Perhaps, in the obtaining of the mark, people even have their soul imprinted/saved for when they die. Talk about an act of rebellion against God!
The Bible Stop

Right! Look at “The Brothers Grimsby”, where a Malthusian elitist plots to rid a supposedly over-populated world of the “scum” by releasing a virus at the World Cup. Except that the effects are not immediate. The plan is to have the “scum” football fans return to their countries of origin. The dormant virus will have spread across multiple populations, killing billions the following week!
Now, consider the Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil this year. The Zika virus is still rampant, it’s full effects are still unknown, traditional means to combat the “super” mosquitoes in the region have failed, and its been noted that a virus is one means of gene-splicing, an advanced means of altering the DNA of people, animals, and plants. Mosquitoes are an excellent delivery method for spreading a man-made disease, but they can’t survive in every climate.
So, what do you do? Bring everyone to a central location, right on the equator, for a two-week event! Worse yet, it’s suspected that Zika is a man-made virus (like H1N1/ Swine Flu), as the CDC has reported that they now have a cure, despite claims of ignorance to Zika’s full effects.
How did they find a cure so fast, and why withhold it for two years? Human trials for any drug can be completed much sooner than that. Perhaps they’re waiting for Zika to be spread throughout the world via the Rio Olympics, and its unknown effects to take hold, before they “deactivate” this potential man-made disaster?

That is an interesting possibility. Now I caution any readers that this is just a theory of a possible conspiracy. There are a whole bunch of those theories out there, and many, if not most, are false. But it does not hurt to know a little about some of them, and keep watch.

To the author: I just watched this film last night. I am an athiest. However, I am not anti-faith, nor anti-religion. Everyone has a right to walk their own path. That being said I did not walk away from this film feeling it was any sort of win for the antichrist. This is simply a science fiction telling of a thought provoking “what if” story. I did not get the impression writers were a voice for satanism or the new world order. It’s just a movie. Science fiction is not real. However, science itself IS real. Evolution IS real. Intelligence – human and that created by us – is the next evolution of man. Is it truly a realistic and reasonable expectation that we to stay the same forever, never to learn the full spectrum of possibilities the world and evern the universe has to offer?
It’s interesting as I perceived the entire situation behind the confrontation between Chappie, your “christian/catholic” (Mr. Jackman’s character), and his Moose robot completely differently. Your christian is simply a man who, surprsingly if he lives by christian/cathol teachings, wants to kill Chappie with a weapon he claims to have created for protecting the right (or righteous metaphorically speaking).
What are his actual motiviations? He did not appear to me to be a valiant savior trying to uphold and defend what is right. He was jealous of Chappie and Deon’s accomplishments and threatened by their potential. He was angry and felt they hindered his goals – money and being the most successful at his craft. So much so that he would play on the fear of others (Ms. Weaver’s character) for support. Not exactly christian-like behavior.
The idea of heaven sounds amazing, I hope for millions of people’s sake it does exist, BUT perhaps, just perhaps (just wanting to have a what-if sort of conversation here) there is no “next place?” To many of us everything wonderful THIS world has to offer is heaven, and we would like to stay as long as we possibly can.

This movie is satanic, they’re trying to show that Christians are evil, that science can do anything, and that you will never Die so that you can rely on science instead of God.
